Today marked the start of the free agency period in the NWSL. Each team will be receiving multiple free agent picks over the coming weeks in preparation for the 2013 season. Sky Blue announced their first additions this afternoon via Twitter. Brittany Bock, Danesha Adams, Lisa De Vanna, and Manya Makoski will be headed to NJ.
Bock, Adams, and Makoski are all elite US midfielders with experience in the WPS. Adams currently plays with Vittsjö GIK in Sweden, and previously played with the Atlanta Beat. Makoski, a former Philadelphia Independence starter, now plays for Aland United in Finland. Both plan to return to the states soon to begin team training. Brittany Bock has been called into many USWNT senior team camps but has yet to earn a cap. She is a former WNY Flash and Washington Freedom player. Australian forward Lisa De Vanna is the only foreigner on the roster as of now. De Vanna played with Washington Freedom and Magicjack in the WPS and will certainly be giving defenders a tough time this season with her speed and agility.
